MAG Lab now stands on its own

MAG Lab is a Dreamcast MAG companion for VMU Pro with two versions that work slightly differently. The version inside PSO: Pocket uses meseta earned during Pocket play. The standalone VMU Pro app uses the loaded character's banked meseta from the Dreamcast save.

Both versions let you import a compatible MAG, buy feed items, raise it on the handheld, and export the updated data back to your save. The difference is simply where the meseta comes from.

Portable progress with a real destination

MAG Lab connects VMU Pro to a real Dreamcast PSO save instead of treating MAG raising like throwaway side content. Whether you use the Pocket version or the standalone app, the goal is the same: make handheld feeding progress matter on your actual save.

  • PSO: Pocket version — feed items use meseta earned while playing PSO: Pocket

Raise the MAG

Load VMU MAG data, buy items from the Feed Shop, feed up to the current limit, trigger evolutions, and then write the MAG back out to the Dreamcast save.

Why multiple saves matter

MAG Lab supports multiple Dreamcast saves, which matters because MAG evolution in PSO depends on the class and Section ID of the character feeding it. If you are aiming for a specific form, loading the right save can make the difference between getting the evolution you want and landing on something else entirely.

That means MAG Lab is not just a convenience feature — it gives players a practical way to work toward class-dependent MAG outcomes using the save that fits the build they are chasing.

Why is MAG Lab asking for my serial?

PSO save files are encrypted using your Dreamcast PSO serial and access key. MAG Lab needs that information so it can correctly decrypt the save, read and modify the MAG data, and then re-encrypt the save when it writes the updated MAG back out.
